Asia, Latin America, Middle East & Africa to Pacific Islands –
General Rate Increase (GRI) and Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) Update

Dear Valued Customers,

Peak Season Surcharge (PSS)
NPDL will be removing the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for Asia/Latin America/Middle East and Africa to Pacific Islands from 22nd July 2022 (shipped on board).

General Rate Increase (GRI)
NPDL continues to experience prolonged demand from Asia to Pacific Islands. To ensure sustainable services and to maintain our regular shipping services linking Asia, Latin America, Middle East and Africa to Pacific Islands, freight rates will increase effective from 22nd July 2022 (shipped on board date).

The increase will be applied on top of the current tariff freight rates at the following amount:

• Origin: Asia, Africa, Latin America, Middle East
• Destination: French Polynesia, Fiji, Cook Islands, New Caledonia
• Quantum: USD$700 per 20’ container / USD$1,400 per 40’ container


• Origin: Asia, Africa, Latin America, Middle East
• Destination: Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu
• Quantum: USD$550 per 20’ container / USD$1,100 per 40’ container

A reminder that all customers will receive customer-specific rate sheets that define the increases and rates specific to your cargo. If you do not receive these rate sheets, please contact your NPDL representative. Thank you for your continued support.
