New Zealand: Port of Tauranga Surcharge

Dear Valued Customer,

The New Zealand Government has introduced a Track User Charge (TUC) that will come into effect from Monday 15 November 2021.

This new legislation obligates KiwiRail to pay a TUC to Government. The Port of Tauranga will, from 15 November 2021, be charging this additional charge by KiwiRail and have therefore added a TUC recovery to their principal Tariffs.

Implementation

For vessels departing from 15 November 2021, the Port of Tauranga will be applying a TUC recovery fee to all shipping lines moving volume to/from Metroport.

CMA CGM & ANL will be recovering this charge as a pre-carriage/on-carriage additional of NZD 6.65 per TEU on all containers moving via carrier haulage to/from Metroport, with effect from 29 November 2021.

Details of the Land Transport (Railway Track User Charges) regulations 2021 can be found here.

Please do not hesitate to contact your local ANL & CMA CGM Representative should you have any queries on your consignment.
