Vessel Renaming
(San Francisco, CA)…In keeping with Hamburg Süd’s tradition of naming ships after geographical landmarks, the “Petkum” has been named “Cap Salia” during her port stay in Oakland on February 19, 2021. The ship was phased into the service late last year and will
now carry a name associated with Cape Salia in Samoa.
Hamburg Süd has been serving the islands of the South Pacific since 1957 and provides direct fortnightly service from Long Beach and Oakland to Tahiti, American Samoa and Samoa with transshipment service to Tonga and Fiji.
