Panama Canal Surcharge (PCS) Increase
Dear Valued Customer,
The Panama Canal Authority has announced modifications to its Transit Reservation System fees. As a result of those fees being levied, Hamburg Süd will revise the Panama Canal Surcharge (PCS) applicable for ALL cargo passing through the canal that is loaded or received for
shipment (in case of FMC origin/destination) on or after 1st June 2021 (based on pro forma departure), for the following trade lanes:
• Europe to/from Latin America
• Europe to/from North America West Coast
• Europe to/from Oceania
• Latin America to/from Oceania
• Latin America to/from East Asia
• North America East Coast to/from Oceania
• Latin America to West Central Asia
• Intra Americas
Charge will increase as follows:
20ft dry or reefer container USD 17 or EU 15
40ft dry or reefer container USD 34 or EU 30
